Most definitely a buy! I had heard about these bad boys from numerous people but as we already had cushions we used when underway couldn’t really justify the money they would cost (as in our opinion they are NOT cheap).
We were in Bénodet (remember the ex vogue model with the gravity defying arse) when Lee said he needed to go to the chandlers again. We didn’t buy rope/lines/ etc but did buy 2 of these seats! We paid €65 each vs the £84.99 C and J Marine are charging for them, although theirs are in posh stripes! Personally we find the red colour covers any blood spilled during passages where we have annoyed each other.
So this seat can be carried around by a useful handle, is made from a waterproof material and has a non slip backing on the underside. To use you sit on it. It’s a seat. How hard is it going to be? To move the back position you push the back fully forward and then back again to the desired position.
It means you can always have excellent back support and be sat on a comfortable base anywhere around the boat. Underway we normally have these resting against the dickie seats as nicely shown below (if I have done it properly) which means we can face forward and also be comfy.
We use them when eating at the cockpit table and when at anchor or moored I have taken it to the bow and read a book using it without leaning against anything. Not three bad. These are definitely something we wished we had purchased years ago, and when they eventually die will be replacing at whatever the cost. I may even get the big version. If I do I won’t review it. Just assume it is the same as this but with more padding under your legs.
Here should be the link https://www.comfortseat.nl/?lang=en but if it doesn’t work then try typing in www.wicbv.nl and see if that’s any better. I did try to change the wordy links to something more simple but couldn’t figure it out, got bored and frustrated and wanted a coffee more so it is what it is.
